Hey there! I'm A. Hu (yes, like "who?" - I get that a lot 😉). If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd become a bestselling romance author writing steamy billionaire stories that would blow up on BookTok, I probably would have choked on my bubble tea. Yet here we are!

Born to Chinese immigrant parents who definitely did NOT envision their daughter writing spicy romance novels for a living (sorry, Mom and Dad!), I grew up devouring everything from Jane Austen to manga. I was that kid hiding romance novels inside my textbooks during class. What can I say? I've always been a sucker for a good love story.

After graduating with a business degree that I swore I'd use (narrator: she did not), I spent my days crunching numbers at a consulting firm and my nights secretly writing the stories that wouldn't leave my head alone. You know those characters who show up uninvited and refuse to shut up until you write their story? Yeah, that's how King of Pride was born.

I write the kind of romance I love to read - steamy, emotional rollercoasters featuring complex characters who definitely don't have their lives figured out (honestly, who does?). My stories usually involve: • Strong-willed heroines who don't need saving (but might enjoy it occasionally) • Morally gray heroes who are a little bit broken but a lot devoted • Cultural elements from my Asian-American background • Enough steam to fog up your e-reader • That sweet spot between angst and humor because life's too short not to laugh

King of Pride is my debut novel, but don't let that fool you - I've been writing stories since I learned how to hold a pencil. This one's special though. It's about two people who are complete opposites on paper but perfect for each other in all the ways that matter. Plus, there's forbidden romance (my weakness), family drama (inspired by real life, minus the billionaires), and enough tension to power a small city.

When I'm not writing, you can find me: • Binge-watching K-dramas (for research, obviously) • Testing new boba tea flavors (also for research) • Spoiling my rescue cat who thinks she's the real author • Reading thirsty comments on BookTok (y'all are wild and I love it)

I believe romance novels are more than just escapism - they're stories about hope, growth, and finding your person, even when the odds are stacked against you. My characters aren't perfect. They mess up, they learn, they grow. Just like us.

What's next? Let's just say I've got more stories up my sleeve that'll keep you up way past your bedtime. The next book might involve a grumpy CEO, a sunshine freelancer, and a fake dating scheme that gets way out of hand. But that's all I can say for now!
