Hi there! I'm Adrienne Steele, and I write dark fantasy romance that probably shouldn't be read in public (trust me on this one). You know those moments when you're reading something steamy on the train and have to slam your Kindle shut? Yeah, I live to create those moments.

I never actually meant to become an author. For years, I worked in corporate marketing, writing boring copy about software products while secretly penning spicy scenes during my lunch breaks. My characters wouldn't shut up, especially at night when I was trying to sleep. They kept whispering their stories—dark, twisted tales that definitely weren't appropriate for my day job's target audience.

Then in 2020 (you know, that year), I finally decided to listen to those persistent voices in my head. I took a leap of faith, quit my stable job (my mother still hasn't forgiven me), and dove headfirst into writing full-time. 'Becoming' was born from many late nights, countless cups of coffee, and an unhealthy obsession with creating morally grey characters who definitely shouldn't end up together... but absolutely do.

My writing style? Think beauty mixed with darkness, romance tangled with danger, and consent always being sexy (even when dealing with supernatural creatures who probably want to eat you). I love exploring the shadows between good and evil, usually while my characters are making terrible life choices that somehow work out in the end. My books aren't for the faint of heart—they're for readers who like their romance with a side of "what the hell did I just read?" and "why am I so attracted to this clearly dangerous character?"

When I'm not writing, you can find me wandering through old bookstores (sorry, can't help myself), attempting to train my rescue cat Princess Stabby (yes, that's really her name, and yes, she lives up to it), or researching obscure mythology for future books (my browser history would terrify most people).

'Becoming' is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long journey into the darker side of romance. It's a story about transformation, power, and finding love in the most unexpected—and possibly dangerous—places. The feedback from readers has been incredible, though I'm pretty sure I've traumatized a few of you (sorry not sorry).

Here's what you can expect from my books: - Morally ambiguous characters who will make you question your own ethics - Spice levels that'll make you fan yourself (or clutch your pearls) - Plot twists that'll keep you up at night - Happy endings... eventually (I make you work for them) - Complex world-building that'll make you want to move in (despite the obvious dangers)

I believe romance doesn't have to be pure and sweet to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful love stories come from the darkest places. That's what I write—stories that make you think, feel, and maybe question your own boundaries a little bit.

Fair warning: my books come with trigger warnings for a reason. I don't shy away from difficult themes or uncomfortable situations. If you're looking for pure, wholesome romance, I'm probably not your girl. But if you want stories that push boundaries, challenge expectations, and still somehow leave you believing in love? Pull up a chair (and maybe grab a drink).
