Hey there, dark romance lovers! I'm Agnes Secret (yes, that's my pen name - and no, I won't tell you the story behind it... yet). I'm the author who dares to write the stories that keep me up at night, the ones that make my therapist raise an eyebrow, and the ones that probably shouldn't turn you on... but definitely will.

I burst onto the dark romance scene in 2024 with "Cruel Love," and let me tell you - that book was living in my head rent-free for YEARS before I finally had the courage to put it on paper. You know those stories that feel like they're clawing their way out of your soul? Yeah, that was this one.

Here's the thing about me: I've always been fascinated by the razor-thin line between love and hate, trust and betrayal. Maybe it's because I spent my college years studying psychology (which my parents TOTALLY thought would lead to a "real" job), or maybe it's because I've always been the friend who gets way too invested in other people's relationship drama. Either way, I found my home in writing about the beautiful mess that happens when good people make terrible choices for all the right reasons.

"Cruel Love" came from a place of wondering what happens when the person you trust most in the world becomes your worst nightmare. (Don't worry, my friends - this isn't based on real events... mostly.) It's a story about betrayal, redemption, and the kind of love that burns everything in its path. The kind of story that makes you question your own moral compass while frantically turning pages at 3 AM.

When I'm not writing scenes that make my beta readers send me concerned texts, I'm probably: - Binge-watching true crime documentaries for "research" (okay, and entertainment) - Walking my rescue dog, Shadow (who's actually afraid of shadows, ironically) - Drinking way too much coffee (my blood type is basically espresso at this point) - Plotting new ways to emotionally destroy my characters (and by extension, my readers)

My writing style? Think emotional terrorism meets poetic justice, with a healthy dose of spice that would make your grandmother clutch her pearls. I believe in happy endings, but my characters have to EARN them. And by earn them, I mean survive the psychological and emotional equivalent of running a marathon through hell... in stilettos... while carrying emotional baggage the size of Texas.

What can you expect from my books? - Complex characters who are neither heroes nor villains (okay, maybe they're villains, but the sexy kind) - Plots that twist harder than my attempts at yoga - Emotional depth that'll make you question everything - Steam levels that might make your e-reader spontaneously combust - Trigger warnings (because I care about your mental health, even while I'm breaking your heart)

I'm currently working on my next book (which may or may not involve a morally grey antihero who makes questionable life choices for the right reasons), and let me tell you - it's going to make "Cruel Love" look like a bedtime story.
