Hi! I'm A.L. Secord, and I write steamy paranormal romance featuring grumpy immortal men who definitely don't deserve sunshine-filled heroines... but get them anyway. (Sorry not sorry, my brooding princes!)

I've always been that weird girl who preferred fantasy worlds to the real one. Growing up, I spent countless hours imagining elaborate stories about elves, vampires, and magical realms while everyone else was doing... whatever normal kids do? To be honest, I'm still not sure what that is. My nose was permanently stuck in a book, usually something with pointed ears or fangs involved.

Writing wasn't actually my first career path. I spent years trying to be "practical" (ugh) before finally admitting that the stories in my head weren't going to leave me alone until I wrote them down. In 2023, I finally took the plunge and started putting my princes and princesses onto paper. Turns out other people wanted to read about grumpy vampire royalty and forbidden elf romance just as much as I wanted to write it!

My books live in that delicious space between dark fantasy romance and spicy paranormal romance. Think enemies-to-lovers with a side of royal intrigue, forbidden love that could literally start wars, and plenty of steam to fog up your e-reader. I love writing strong-willed heroines who refuse to back down, even when faced with immortal beings who've had centuries to perfect their brooding stares. (Seriously, these guys need to lighten up sometimes...)

My debut novel, "Forest Love: Broken Vampire Prince," introduces Prince Dragoste Avere - possibly the grumpiest vampire prince ever to get exiled from his kingdom. When a curvy human woman saves his life and offers him a deal, he's forced to actually *gasp* work for a living. The horror! But don't worry, our sunshine girl knows exactly how to handle his royal attitude.

In my upcoming release "Blood Moon Kisses" (2025), I'm diving into the forbidden romance between an elf Prince and a human Princess. Fair warning: there will be consequences. Big ones. Kingdom-shaking ones. But that's what happens when you fall for someone you're supposed to hate, right?

When I'm not writing about immortal beings falling desperately in love with humans they shouldn't want (but absolutely do), you can find me binge-watching fantasy shows, collecting way too many bookish candles, and trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house to nap. (I'm losing that battle, by the way.)

My writing philosophy is pretty simple: give me all the tropes, make them spicier, add some pointed ears or fangs, and stir well. I believe romance should be an escape, but with enough emotional depth to make you feel everything right along with the characters. And if I can make you laugh while also making you fan yourself... well, that's just a bonus!

What can you expect from my books? Slow-burn tension that'll have you yelling at your e-reader. Magical worlds you'll want to live in (despite the occasional mortal peril). Heroes who start out thinking they're the villains of their own stories. And heroines who refuse to let them believe that. Plus enough steam to require a fan nearby while reading. You've been warned!
