Hey there! I'm Amy J. Heart, and I write dark romance that'll probably make your mom clutch her pearls and your book club friends question your sanity. (Don't worry - my family questions mine too.)

Let me start by saying I never intended to write romance, let alone the kind that makes people squirm. Life has a funny way of pushing you exactly where you need to go, even when that place is uncomfortable as hell. My journey into writing started from my own darkness - those shadowy corners of life that most people prefer to ignore. But I've always believed that's where the most powerful stories live.

I spent years working with at-risk youth and seeing firsthand how trauma shapes us. Those experiences left permanent marks on my soul and eventually found their way onto my pages. When I finally sat down to write "Finding E," I knew it wouldn't be your typical boy-meets-girl story. How could it be, when I'd spent so much time watching real people navigate the aftermath of their personal hells?

My writing style? Raw. Unflinching. Sometimes beautiful, often brutal. I write about broken people who probably don't deserve love but find it anyway - usually in the most destructive ways possible. There's always hope in my stories, but you're gonna have to wade through some serious darkness to find it. (Kind of like real life, right?)

"Finding E" was my debut, and holy hell, what a wild ride that's been. The story of a young, homeless man who sells pain to survive, until he meets the one person who makes him question everything - it's not your typical romance. But then again, I'm not your typical romance author. The response from readers has blown me away. Turns out I'm not the only one who wants stories that dig deep into the ugly parts of human nature while still searching for light.

When I'm not writing morally grey characters who make questionable life choices, you'll find me drinking way too much coffee (seriously, my blood is probably 90% caffeine at this point), reading true crime (because apparently my day job wasn't dark enough), and trying to convince my rescue cat that my laptop keyboard is not, in fact, his personal heated bed.

Fair warning: my books aren't for everyone. If you're looking for sweet, clean romance where everyone makes good decisions and communication is clear and healthy - you're definitely in the wrong place. But if you want stories that explore the messy, complicated reality of love in its darkest forms? Pull up a chair. We're going to get along just fine.

I write for readers who understand that sometimes the most powerful love stories come from the most damaged places. My characters aren't heroes - most of them aren't even particularly good people. But they're real. They're struggling. And sometimes, in their own twisted way, they find something beautiful in the darkness.

Currently, I'm working on my next project (no spoilers, but let's just say it makes "Finding E" look like a bedtime story), and building a community of readers who, like me, aren't afraid to explore the shadows.
