Hi! I'm Angie Hockman, and I write romantic comedies that'll make you laugh, swoon, and maybe book an impromptu vacation (sorry not sorry to your wallet!).

Here's the thing - my path to becoming an author was about as straightforward as trying to navigate through the Galapagos Islands without a map. I actually started my career as an environmental nonprofit professional, spending time working in wildlife conservation and even sailing around Central America. (Yes, really! Though I was significantly less coordinated than my characters.)

Those experiences ended up being the perfect research for my debut novel "Shipped," even though I didn't know it at the time. There's nothing quite like actually experiencing seasickness firsthand to help you write about two marketing rivals stuck together on a cruise ship in the Galápagos Islands! Though I promise my main character Henley handles it with way more grace than I ever did.

I'm a firm believer that the best romantic comedies balance heart with humor, tension with tenderness, and always (ALWAYS) deliver on that happily ever after we're all craving. My characters tend to be driven professionals who are great at their jobs but hilariously bad at recognizing love when it's right in front of them. (Let's be honest - aren't we all sometimes?)

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me curled up with my rescue dogs, planning my next travel adventure with my husband, or trying to convince myself that scrolling through vacation photos counts as "research" for my next book. I'm based in Ohio, but my heart belongs to the ocean - which probably explains why so many of my stories end up involving water somehow!

I love writing the kind of books that feel like a warm hug or your favorite vacation - the ones you can't put down and leave you with a smile on your face. My stories usually feature: - Workplace rivals who are definitely NOT falling in love (spoiler: they totally are) - Travel adventures that go hilariously wrong before they go right - Strong women who know their worth (even when they're delightfully awkward) - Men who are competent, competitive, and completely thrown off their game by love - Enough banter to fill a cruise ship

"Shipped" was my debut novel, and the response from readers has been more amazing than I ever could have dreamed. (Seriously, every time someone tells me they stayed up all night reading it, I do a little happy dance - my dogs think I'm crazy.)

To my readers: thank you for coming along on this journey with me. Your messages, reviews, and shared excitement mean the world. There's nothing better than connecting with people who love these characters as much as I do.

For anyone picking up one of my books for the first time - get ready for adventures, laughs, and romance that'll have you believing in love all over again. Just maybe don't blame me if you end up booking a cruise after reading "Shipped." (Though if you do, send pictures!)

Oh, and fun fact: I wrote most of "Shipped" while working full-time and getting my MBA. Sleep is overrated, coffee is life, and dreams don't work unless you do. (Though I don't recommend my specific brand of chaos - there are probably easier ways to write a book!)
