Hey there! I'm Ann Denton, and I write paranormal romance that's definitely not your grandmother's Hallmark Christmas special. (Unless your grandmother is particularly fond of sassy angels with tiny wings and a penchant for getting into trouble. In that case, we should probably be friends.)

You know how some people have their whole lives mapped out? Yeah, that wasn't me. I stumbled into writing the way my characters stumble into supernatural shenanigans – completely by accident and with a healthy dose of "what did I just get myself into?" One minute I was daydreaming about what would happen if a guardian angel royally messed up their heavenly duties, and the next thing I knew, I had written an entire book about it. Funny how life works sometimes.

I grew up on a steady diet of fantasy novels and romance books that I definitely wasn't supposed to be reading at that age (sorry, Mom!). There was something magical about mixing the impossible with the intimate, and I knew that's exactly what I wanted to create. But here's the thing – I didn't want to write just another angel story. I wanted to write about the screw-ups, the rebels, the ones who make heaven's HR department pull their hair out.

That's how 'Ruby' was born. It's the story of an angel who manages to botch her Christmas miracle assignment (which, let me tell you, is NOT something you want on your celestial performance review) and ends up with baby-sized wings as punishment. Think "It's a Wonderful Life" meets "Office Space," but with more sexual tension and significantly more wing-related mishaps.

When I'm not writing about celestial beings getting themselves into hot water, you can usually find me binge-watching supernatural shows for "research" (that's my story and I'm sticking to it), attempting to perfect my chocolate chip cookie recipe (still a work in progress), or trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house to take a nap.

My writing style? Well, I believe in finding the humor in even the most dramatic situations. Life's weird, the afterlife's probably weirder, and romance is the weirdest of all – so why not lean into it? I mix snappy dialogue with heartfelt moments, add a dash of chaos, and top it all off with characters who are trying their best (even if their best sometimes ends in disaster).

What can you expect from my books? Angels who are more human than they'd like to admit. Romance that burns hot enough to singe wing feathers. Plot twists that'll make you say "Wait, what?" at least three times per book. And most importantly, stories that remind us that love can find us anywhere – even when we're at our most spectacularly imperfect.

Fair warning: if you're looking for perfectly proper angels who always follow the rules and never make inappropriate jokes at celestial staff meetings, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want stories about supernatural beings who mess up, fall in love, and somehow manage to save the day (eventually), pull up a cloud and make yourself comfortable.
