Hey there! I'm Anna Caleena, and I write steamy sports romance that'll have you looking at hockey players in a whole new way. (Let's be honest, those uniforms were already doing half the work... 😉)

Growing up in Germany, I always had two major obsessions: writing stories and watching ice hockey. While other kids were dreaming about becoming doctors or teachers, I was scribbling romantic scenes in notebooks and analyzing every hockey game I could find. My parents probably thought I'd grow out of both passions, but surprise! I just found a way to combine them.

I started my professional life in journalism, which taught me more about storytelling than any creative writing course ever could. There's something about digging deep into people's lives and motivations that translates perfectly into character development. Plus, my background in investigative journalism means I'm basically a professional stalker when it comes to research. (Don't worry, no hockey players were harmed in the making of my books... well, not permanently anyway.)

My debut novel "One Puck at a Time" brings together everything I love – fierce female journalists who don't take crap from anyone, hot-headed hockey players who meet their match off the ice, and enough sexual tension to melt the rink. I believe in writing strong women who aren't afraid to chase what they want, even when what they want is supposedly off-limits. And don't even get me started on the enemies-to-lovers trope – it's my absolute favorite. There's nothing quite like watching two people who "hate" each other realize that thin line between love and hate is actually just foreplay.

When I'm not writing spicy scenes that'll make you fan yourself (or possibly look up hockey game tickets), I'm probably watching sports, planning my next book, or trying to convince my cat that my laptop keyboard is not his personal heating pad. I work from home, which means I spend an embarrassing amount of time in my pajamas, fueled by coffee and the burning desire to create stories that'll keep you up way past your bedtime.

My writing style? Think witty banter that'll make you snort-laugh, sexual tension that builds so slowly you'll want to throw your e-reader across the room (please don't), and steamy scenes that'll fog up your glasses. I don't believe in fade-to-black moments – my characters work too hard for their happy endings to skip the good stuff!

To my German readers: Ja, ich schreibe auch auf Deutsch! There's something special about writing in my mother tongue that lets me add layers of meaning and wordplay that might get lost in translation. But don't worry, English versions are definitely in the works. (My characters are too impatient to stay confined to one language.)

What can you expect from my books? Strong heroines who aren't afraid to speak their minds, alpha males who need to be knocked down a peg (or three), enough sports details to satisfy the real fans without overwhelming romance readers, and heat levels that'll have you checking to make sure your smoke detector is working. I write the kind of stories I want to read – where the chemistry is off the charts, the conflicts feel real, and the journey to happily ever after is worth every dramatic moment.
