Hey there! I'm Avikshit Mahajan, and I write gritty urban stories about brotherhood, redemption, and the dark underbelly of Delhi that tourists never see. (Trust me, those glossy travel brochures don't tell you the half of it.)

Writing wasn't my first calling – or my second, if I'm being honest. I spent years watching my beloved city transform, seeing both its rise and its shadows deepen. The stories of the people caught in between, the ones fighting to survive while the world changes around them? Those kept haunting me until I had no choice but to put them on paper.

My debut novel, "Vigilantes of Delhi Nagar" (coming in 2025), is the book I wish I could have read growing up. It's about five men who probably wouldn't look twice at each other on the street, but fate – and this unforgiving city – brings them together. They're not heroes. Not even close. But they're real. They're broken. And they're trying to find their way through a world that's forgotten them.

I write about the Delhi you won't see in Bollywood movies or tourist guides. My Delhi is in the narrow gullies where dreams go to die, in the local chai stalls where conspiracies are whispered over steaming cups, and in the hearts of people who refuse to be ground down by a system that was never built for them.

(Fair warning: if you're looking for light and fluffy stories where everything works out perfectly, you might want to look elsewhere. I don't write those. Can't. Won't.)

My characters aren't black and white – they live in those messy greys where most of us actually exist. They make terrible choices sometimes. They fail. They get back up. They love fiercely and fight dirty. Just like real people do.

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me wandering through Old Delhi's labyrinthine streets, soaking in stories from street vendors and chai wallahs who've seen it all. Or maybe I'm holed up in some tiny bookshop, surrounded by the musty smell of old paperbacks and dreams. These places, these people – they're the heart of my writing.

I believe in stories that punch you in the gut while making you think. Stories that stick with you long after you've turned the last page. Stories that remind us that even in our darkest moments, there's always a glimmer of hope – even if it's just the dim light of a street lamp in a Delhi alley.

To my readers (and future readers): expect raw honesty, complex relationships, and characters who'll make you question everything you think you know about right and wrong. Expect to feel uncomfortable sometimes. Expect to see the beauty in broken things. And most importantly, expect to find pieces of yourself in these pages – even in the parts you might not want to admit are there.

I'm not here to write bestsellers (though I wouldn't complain if it happened!). I'm here to tell the stories that need to be told, about the people who deserve to be seen. Stories about survival, about brotherhood, about finding light in the darkest corners of our world.

(And yes, I do all this while consuming dangerous amounts of chai. It's not just a stereotype – it's a lifestyle choice.)
