Hey there, dark romance lovers! I'm Bailey Black, and I write the kind of stories that keep you up at night—not because they're scary (okay, maybe a little scary), but because you just can't stop turning those pages. Fair warning: I don't do sweet and fluffy. My characters are broken, complex, and sometimes make terrible decisions. But isn't that what makes them real?

I started writing back when I was sneaking romance novels under my blanket with a flashlight (sorry, Mom!). Those mainstream romances were great, but something was always missing for me. I wanted more edge, more darkness, more of those gray areas where good and bad blur together. That's where my stories live.

My journey to becoming a published author wasn't exactly a fairy tale. I spent years working as a barista, scribbling story ideas on napkins between making lattes. (Fun fact: I can still make a mean cappuccino, and yes, I absolutely use that skill to fuel my late-night writing sessions.) It wasn't until 2019 that I finally took the plunge and published "Beautifully Broken," my debut novel about Piper—a woman who's made peace with death, only to find something worth living for in the most unexpected place.

If you've read my books, you know I don't shy away from the heavy stuff. Mental health, trauma, redemption—these themes are woven through everything I write. "Secrets of Starlight and Shadows" explores the idea that sometimes the darkest parts of ourselves can lead us to the brightest love. (Plus, who doesn't love a good "chosen one" romance with a cosmic twist?)

My writing style? Think midnight conversations with your best friend after too much wine, but make it darker and steamier. I believe in raw emotion, unfiltered thoughts, and characters who feel so real you'll swear you've met them before. Sometimes they'll make you angry. Sometimes they'll break your heart. But I promise they'll always make you feel something.

When I'm not torturing my characters (lovingly, of course), you can find me wandering through old bookstores, collecting vintage teacups (I have way too many), or hanging out with my rescue cat, Phantom. He's my official writing buddy and plot consultant, though his main contribution is walking across my keyboard at crucial moments.

To my readers: you're my people. The ones who understand that love isn't always pretty or perfect. The ones who know that sometimes the most beautiful stories come from broken places. I read every message you send (even if I'm terrible at responding quickly—I'm working on it!), and your support means the world to me.

What can you expect from my books? I don't believe in pure villains or perfect heroes—my characters live in the messy middle, just like real people.
