Hey there! I'm Barbie Scott, and I write the kind of steamy, forbidden romance that would make my mama blush (sorry, Mom). But let's be real—the best stories are the ones that make you question everything you thought you knew about right and wrong.

I never set out to write a prison romance. Honestly, who does? But after spending years working as a nurse in various healthcare settings, I kept finding myself drawn to stories about people finding love in the most unexpected—and often controversial—places. There's something magnetic about that tension between duty and desire, between what society says is acceptable and what the heart wants.

My debut novel, "BBW and the Beast," was the story that wouldn't let me sleep. I'd lie awake at night, thinking about how a dedicated nurse like Saga Martin would handle falling for someone like Hassan "Honcho" Franks. The forbidden attraction, the ethical dilemmas, the raw intensity of emotions when everything's stacked against you... it just wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it down. (And maybe consumed concerning amounts of coffee in the process. My Keurig deserves a co-author credit, if we're being honest.)

I write plus-size heroines because that's the world I know and love. My characters aren't here to apologize for taking up space or for wanting love on their own terms. They're fierce, they're flawed, and they're absolutely fabulous. And don't even get me started on my anti-heroes—they're the kind of men who'll make you sweat in all the right ways while simultaneously making you question your moral compass. Oops?

When I'm not writing steamy scenes that make my laptop overheat (literally—I've killed two so far), I'm probably binge-watching true crime documentaries, spoiling my rescue cats rotten, or dreaming up new ways to torture my characters (lovingly, of course). I believe in happy endings, but I'll make you work for them. Because let's face it—the best things in life never come easy.

To my readers: thank you for taking a chance on my first book and embracing Saga and Hassan's story with such open arms. Your messages about staying up all night to finish "BBW and the Beast" make all those 3 AM writing sessions worth it. (Though my dark circles might disagree.) The way you've connected with these characters means everything to me.

I write the books I wanted to read but couldn't find: stories where size doesn't determine worth, where love doesn't play by society's rules, and where the "bad guy" might just be the right guy after all.
