Hey there! I'm Brooke O'Brien, and I write steamy romance that'll have you staying up way too late and probably calling in sick to work the next day. (Sorry not sorry about that last part!)

I've always been a hopeless romantic at heart, but my path to becoming a USA Today bestselling author wasn't exactly a straight line. Growing up in a small Midwest town, I spent countless hours getting lost in romance novels, dreaming up stories and characters that wouldn't leave me alone. But like many writers, I first went the "responsible" route – you know, the whole corporate career thing. Turns out, those characters in my head were pretty persistent.

In 2021, I finally took the plunge and published my first novel, "Wild Irish" – an enemies-to-lovers fighter romance that honestly scared me a little to put out into the world. (Who releases their first book about an underground fighter and the woman who drives him crazy in all the best and worst ways?) But something magical happened: readers connected with Austen and her story in ways I never expected.

Here's the thing about my books: I write raw, real characters who are beautifully flawed and sometimes make terrible decisions. My heroes are usually the kind of guys your mama warned you about – fighters, bad boys, men with rough edges and golden hearts. And my heroines? They're strong-willed women who don't need saving but might just want it anyway. There's always steam (okay, lots of steam), banter that'll make you snort-laugh, and enough emotional tension to keep you frantically flipping pages.

When I'm not writing about hot fighters and the women who bring them to their knees, you can usually find me binge-watching true crime documentaries (research, right?), attempting to keep my houseplants alive (it's a struggle), or trying to convince my husband that we definitely need another dog. (The answer is always yes, by the way.)

My writing cave is fueled by probably too much coffee, a playlist that would raise some eyebrows, and the incredible support of my readers. I love connecting with my romance family on social media – seriously, slide into my DMs anytime! Nothing makes my day more than hearing from readers who stayed up until 3 AM because they just had to know what happened next.

What can you expect from my books? Enemies-to-lovers tension that'll have you screaming into your kindle. Alpha heroes who are protective but not controlling. Heroines who give as good as they get. And love stories that feel real, raw, and worth fighting for. Plus, there's usually someone getting punched. (In the ring! I'm talking about in the ring!)

I believe romance should be both an escape and a reflection of real life – minus the boring parts, plus way hotter guys. My characters aren't perfect, and their journeys aren't always pretty, but that's what makes their happy endings so satisfying. And yes, I always promise a HEA. I'm not a monster!

Fun fact: I actually do extensive research for my fighter scenes, which has led to some interesting YouTube history and my husband questioning why I'm watching MMA highlights at midnight. (It's for the craft, honey, I swear!)
