Hey there! I'm Corina Douglas, and I write dark fantasy romance that'll make you question everything you thought you knew about good and evil. (Spoiler alert: the line between them is way blurrier than you'd think.)
I've always been fascinated by the darker side of magic and mythology, especially Celtic folklore. Growing up surrounded by stories of ancient druids and fierce warriors, I knew I wanted to create worlds where those elements crashed headfirst into modern-day challenges. But I never expected my first series to grab readers quite the way it has. (Thank you, by the way, to everyone who's messaged me about staying up until 3 AM to finish "just one more chapter" - you're my kind of people!)
My journey into writing started in the most cliché way possible - I was that kid hiding under the covers with a flashlight, devouring every fantasy book I could get my hands on. Fast forward through a decade of writing fan fiction (no, you'll never find it), several abandoned manuscripts that will forever stay buried in my hard drive, and countless cups of coffee, and here I am, writing the kind of books I always wanted to read.
The Winter series is my baby, and it's where you'll find all my favorite things: morally gray characters who'll make you feel things you probably shouldn't, ancient magic that comes with a hefty price tag, and romance that burns slow but hot. "Winter's Legion" and "Winter's Vengeance" follow Brydie's story as she navigates a world where druidic power meets modern warfare, and trust me, it gets messy. Really messy. (Like, "maybe don't read this while eating" messy.)
I write for readers who love their fantasy with a heavy dose of darkness and their romance with complicated feelings. You know those moments when you're rooting for someone you probably shouldn't? Yeah, I live for those. My characters aren't heroes or villains - they're people trying to survive in a world where ancient magic doesn't play nice with modern morality.
When I'm not torturing my characters (professionally, of course), you'll find me hiking in the woods with my rescue dog, Luna (yes, I'm that kind of nerd), or adding to my embarrassingly large collection of Celtic mythology books. I also spend way too much time on Instagram sharing behind-the-scenes peeks at my writing process and random facts about druidic lore that probably only I find fascinating. (But hey, some of you seem to enjoy them too!)
Fair warning: I don't write light and fluffy. My books deal with heavy themes, complex relationships, and the kind of choices that'll keep you up at night wondering what you'd do in that situation. There's romance, yes, but it's the kind that develops in the trenches, when people are fighting for their lives and their souls. If you're looking for a straightforward happily-ever-after, I might not be your girl. But if you want stories that'll make you think, feel, and maybe question everything you thought you knew about right and wrong? Pull up a chair.
I believe in building a community with my readers, and I love nothing more than hearing your theories and reactions. (Seriously, your DMs about that twist in "Winter's Vengeance" gave me LIFE.) I try to be as accessible as possible on social media, though sometimes I disappear into my writing cave when deadlines loom. Don't worry - I always emerge eventually, usually with more angst-filled content for you.
Looking ahead, I've got big plans for expanding the Winter universe. There are so many stories still to tell, so many dark corners to explore. If you're ready for a journey into a world where ancient magic meets modern darkness, where love blooms in the most unlikely places, and where nothing is ever quite what it seems, come join me. Just remember to bring a flashlight - it gets pretty dark where we're going.
And yes, I do read all my reviews, even the ones that say my books gave them trust issues. (Those might be my favorites, actually.)
