Hey there! I'm Dale Mayer, and I write the kind of stories that keep you up way too late at night (sorry not sorry about those dark circles under your eyes). After years of writing across multiple genres, I've found my sweet spot in romantic suspense and paranormal romance that pushes boundaries and explores the grittier side of love.

Let me tell you, my path to becoming an author wasn't exactly straightforward. I started out scribbling stories in notebooks while raising my kids as a single mom in Canada (yes, I'm one of those friendly Canadians, eh?). Between juggling jobs and family life, I'd stay up late into the night, letting my imagination run wild with tales of complex heroes and the women strong enough to handle them. Those late nights fueled by coffee and determination eventually turned into my first published book, and I haven't looked back since.

My latest series follows broken souls finding healing and love at Second Chance Ranch, where damaged veterans and rescue animals help each other heal. Burke's story (my newest baby) introduces you to a man trying to piece his life back together after a toxic relationship nearly destroyed him. When he shows up at Timber's place looking for work, he finds so much more than just a job. (Don't you just love it when life throws you exactly what you need, even if you're not ready for it?)

Here's the thing about my writing style – I don't sugar-coat the tough stuff. Life isn't always pretty, and neither are my characters' journeys. But I believe in the power of redemption, second chances, and the kind of love that makes you fight for it. My heroes are usually carrying some serious emotional baggage (aren't we all?), and my heroines? They're strong enough to handle it, but they've got their own demons to battle.

When I'm not writing (which isn't often – this is basically a 24/7 obsession), you might find me gardening, attempting to train my perpetually mischievous dog, or binge-watching crime shows for "research" (at least that's what I tell myself). I live for those moments when readers message me saying they stayed up all night reading because they couldn't put the book down. That's the best compliment ever!

I believe in building a real connection with my readers – you're not just names on a screen to me. I love chatting with you on social media, hearing your theories about what's coming next, and sometimes even letting you influence where the stories might go. (Yes, I've definitely changed plot points because a reader's idea was better than mine!)

Fair warning: if you pick up one of my books, be prepared for: - Characters who are beautifully flawed and sometimes make questionable decisions (just like real people) - Emotional rollercoasters that'll make you want to throw your e-reader (please don't) - Steamy scenes that'll fog up your glasses - Plot twists you won't see coming - And always, always, a satisfying ending (because life's too short for bad endings)

I write the kind of stories I love to read – full of heart, heat, and enough suspense to keep you guessing. Whether it's military veterans finding their way back to civilian life, paranormal elements that add a twist to reality, or romantic suspense that'll have you checking your locks twice, I promise to take you on one hell of a ride.
