Hi there! I'm Des Sweet, and I write dark romance that'll make you question your morals while reaching for another cup of hot cocoa. (Don't worry, I won't judge – I'm right there with you!)

Let me start by saying I never expected to write a Christmas story that would make people side-eye their holiday decorations. But here we are! Life has a funny way of leading us down unexpected paths, and my journey into dark romance writing is proof of that.

I've always been fascinated by the contrast between light and dark – those moments when something beautiful becomes terrifying, or when something scary holds an unexpected allure. Growing up in a small town where everyone put on their brightest smiles during the holidays, I couldn't help but wonder what secrets lurked behind those perfectly decorated windows. (Spoiler alert: usually nothing as exciting as what I write, but a girl can dream!)

My debut novel, "Hunted For Christmas," came from that exact fascination. I took everyone's favorite cozy holiday and turned it into something... well, let's just say you might never look at reindeer games the same way again. 😉 It's the kind of story that makes you want to curl up by the fire – partly for comfort, partly because you're legitimately scared to look out the window.

When it comes to my writing style, I love playing with expectations. Sure, there's snow and Christmas lights, but there's also danger lurking in those shadows between the trees. My characters aren't your typical holiday romance leads – they're complex, often morally gray, and sometimes downright wicked. (But in the most entertaining way possible, I promise!)

I write for readers who like their eggnog spiked with a healthy dose of darkness. You know who you are – the ones who watch horror movies in December and think "How can I make this more romantic?" That's my tribe right there!

Currently, I'm working on more stories that blend the beautiful with the dangerous. Because let's be honest – some of the best romances happen when you're running for your life. Or maybe that's just me? (No, seriously, is that just me?)

When I'm not writing about dangerous attraction in winter wonderlands, you can find me collecting vintage Christmas ornaments (the creepier the better), drinking way too much coffee, and convincing my cat that my laptop keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house. It's a losing battle, but I persist.

To my readers: thank you for being brave enough to venture into the dark with me. For trusting me to take you down snowy paths that might be scattered with both rose petals and... well, other things. You're the reason I keep pushing boundaries and exploring the shadows.

If you're new to my work, here's what you can expect: stories that make you question whether you should be rooting for the villain (you probably should), romance that burns hot enough to melt snow, and plots that'll keep you guessing until the very end. Oh, and maybe a few twisted Christmas carols that'll never sound quite the same again.

Fair warning: my books aren't for everyone. If you like your holiday romance sweet and simple, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you're intrigued by the idea of finding love in the darkest of places, if you don't mind a few scares with your kisses, and if you think "running for your life" counts as foreplay – welcome home, darling.
