ELLA. KNIGHT

Dark Romance Author

Hey there! I'm Ella Knight, and I write dark romance that'll probably make your mom clutch her pearls and your book club friends give you concerned looks. (Don't worry - those are the best kind of stories, right?)

I never expected to end up writing romance, let alone the twisted kind that keeps readers up until 3 AM. Growing up in a tiny Midwest town, I was that weird kid who spent lunch breaks scribbling murder mysteries in notebooks while everyone else was, you know, having a social life. My teachers were... concerned, to say the least. But hey, at least those creative writing skills finally came in handy!

After spending way too many years trying to write "normal" books (whatever those are), I finally embraced my darker side. Turns out there are lots of us who love exploring those shadowy corners of relationships – the ones where love and obsession blur together in the best/worst ways possible.

My first book, "Catching Ivy," started as a personal therapy session, if I'm being honest. I'd read so many romance novels where toxic relationships got glossed over with a pretty bow, and I wanted to write something raw and real about the messy reality of finding love after trauma. Ivy's story poured out of me during countless late-night writing sessions fueled by way too much coffee and my cat's judgmental stares. (Thanks for nothing, Mr. Whiskers.)

When I'm not torturing my characters (lovingly, I swear), you'll find me binge-watching true crime documentaries, stress-baking cookies at midnight, or adding to my embarrassingly large collection of Halloween decorations that stay up year-round. My partner has learned to live with the skeleton in our living room. His name is Fred.

Here's what you should know about my books: they're not your typical romance. I write about the kind of love that leaves scars, both physical and emotional. My characters are messy, complicated people who probably need therapy more than they need relationships – but they're going to fall in love anyway, usually with the worst possible person. There will be trauma. There will be triggers. There will definitely be spice. (Like, hide-your-Kindle-from-your-grandmother levels of spice.)

The "A Rabbit's Escape" series is my baby, starting with "Catching Ivy." It's a journey through the darker side of romance, where healing doesn't always look pretty and happy endings come with a side of emotional whiplash. I'm not here to write cookie-cutter love stories – I'm here to dig into the nitty-gritty of how broken people learn to love again, even when it hurts.

Fair warning: if you're looking for sweet, clean romance, you're probably in the wrong place. My books come with trigger warnings for a reason. But if you like your love stories with a heavy dose of psychological tension, morally grey characters, and endings that'll leave you emotionally wrecked (in the best way), then pull up a chair. We're going to be great friends.

I love connecting with readers on Instagram and TikTok, where I post probably too many behind-the-scenes peeks at my writing process, random plot bunnies that wake me up at 3 AM, and videos of me dramatically acting out scenes with my coffee mug. Fair warning: I'm awkward as hell on camera, but I've decided to embrace it as part of my charm.

Want to join this crazy journey? Grab a copy of "Catching Ivy," buckle up, and prepare yourself for a wild ride. Just maybe keep a light on while you're reading. And remember – it's totally normal to fall in love with the villain. We don't judge here.

XOXO, Ella

P.S. Yes, Mr. Whiskers really does judge my writing. He's my harshest critic.
