Gina Robbins

Dark Romance Author

Hey there! I'm Gina Robbins, and I've always believed the most powerful love stories are born where civilization ends and raw human nature begins. (Yes, I was that kid who daydreamed about being stranded on a desert island while everyone else wanted to be princesses.)

I wrote "Always and Forever" back in 1992, pouring my fascination with survival romance and fish-out-of-water tales into every page. The story of Candeliera—Candle to her island family—and the rugged Captain Nick Tiger came from countless hours I spent imagining what it would be like to grow up away from so-called "civilization," only to have your whole world turned upside down by love.

Writing has been my escape since I was old enough to hold a pen. I grew up in a tiny Minnesota town where winters seemed endless and books were my ticket to tropical adventures. My mother swears I learned to read using her romance novels (which, okay, I definitely stole from her nightstand). By twelve, I was filling notebooks with stories about castaways and pirates. Looking back, they were absolutely terrible—but hey, we all start somewhere!

My writing style? I'd call it emotionally raw with a heavy dose of sexual tension. I love exploring what happens when you strip away society's rules and let two people discover each other in their purest form. There's something magical about taking characters out of their comfort zones and watching them find strength they never knew they had. (And yes, watching them fall desperately in love while they're at it!)

"Always and Forever" holds a special place in my heart. I wrote it during a particularly rough patch in my life, when I was going through a divorce and raising two kids on my own. Candle's story—her resilience, her ability to find joy in unexpected places—became my lifeline. The book didn't make me rich or famous, but the letters I received from readers who connected with Candle's journey made every late night of writing worth it.

When I'm not writing (which, let's be honest, isn't as often as my agent would like), you'll find me tending to my somewhat overwhelming collection of houseplants or planning my next beach vacation. I'm convinced I was a mermaid in a previous life—just ask my kids about my obsession with the ocean!

I believe romance novels are more than just escape fiction. They're stories about hope, about finding strength in vulnerability, about the incredible power of love to transform us. My characters aren't perfect—they're messy, complicated, and sometimes frustratingly stubborn. But that's what makes them real.

To my readers: expect passionate love stories that challenge conventions. Expect heroes who are both strong and gentle, heroines who discover their own power, and settings that become characters in their own right. And yes, expect some steamy scenes that'll make you fan yourself (sorry, Mom!).

I'm currently working on my next novel (finally!), which revisits the themes of survival and love, but with a twist I think will surprise you. Can't say more than that right now, but let's just say I'm exploring what happens when the "civilized" world might not be worth returning to...

Want to connect? I love hearing from readers! You can find me on Goodreads, where I'm probably gushing about the latest historical romance I've discovered, or dreaming up new ways to strand my characters on beautiful, dangerous shores.

Remember: sometimes the greatest love stories happen in the most unexpected places. And if you're ever shipwrecked on a tropical island... well, keep an eye out for handsome sea captains!

With love and adventure, Gina
