I Mazyar

Hey there! I'm I Mazyar, and I write the kind of fantasy romance that would probably make my high school English teachers raise their eyebrows. You know, the stories where forbidden love meets dystopian chaos, and everyone's wearing masks - both literal and metaphorical ones. (Trust me, the symbolism isn't lost on me!)

I grew up with my head constantly in the clouds, dreaming up elaborate worlds while everyone else was doing... well, normal things. My family immigrated when I was young, and those early experiences of feeling like an outsider in a new world definitely shaped my storytelling. There's nothing quite like being the new kid to make you appreciate the 'found family' trope, right?

Writing wasn't actually my first career choice. I spent years trying to be "practical" (whatever that means), but those stories in my head just wouldn't shut up. They kept getting bigger and wilder, filled with desert landscapes and mysterious masks, forbidden romances and dangerous alliances. Finally, I decided to stop fighting it and just write the damn book.

That's how "Mask Dealer" was born. It's my debut novel, and honestly? It's the book I always wanted to read but could never find. You know those stories that mix romance with action and fantasy, but don't skimp on any of it? That's what I aimed for. My characters aren't just falling in love - they're doing it while navigating treacherous realms, dealing with life-or-death situations, and questioning everything they thought they knew about their world. (And yes, there might be some steamy scenes thrown in there because... well, why not?)

I'm a huge believer in the enemies-to-lovers trope, but I like to put my own spin on it. In my world, the line between enemy and ally is about as clear as a sandstorm. My characters don't just fall in love - they crash into it, fighting every step of the way. And don't even get me started on the close proximity scenes! (Let's just say being trapped together in a desert hideout can lead to some... interesting situations.)

When I'm not writing, I'm probably researching ancient civilizations, studying different mask-making traditions (yes, really), or trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not a bed. I'm also slightly obsessed with world-building. Like, embarrassingly so. I have entire notebooks filled with maps, realm histories, and magical system rules that my readers will probably never see. (But they're there, making everything feel real!)

My writing style? It's intense. I don't do light and fluffy - I want my readers to feel everything. The heart-pounding tension, the forbidden attraction, the fear of discovery, the thrill of finding your people in a world that seems determined to tear you apart. I write complex characters who make questionable choices, face impossible odds, and somehow find love in the midst of chaos.

What can you expect from my books? Adventure that keeps you turning pages way past your bedtime. Romance that makes you forget to breathe. World-building that pulls you in and doesn't let go. And characters who feel so real you'll catch yourself thinking about them months after finishing the book. (I still get messages from readers asking about certain characters' wellbeing, as if they're real people. I love that!)

The realms I've created are vast, and trust me, there are plenty more masks to be worn and secrets to be revealed.
