Hi there! I'm Jane Henry, and I write the kind of dark romance that makes your mother nervous and your book club blush. (But let's be honest—those are usually the best kinds of books, right?)

From the moment I could string sentences together, I've been creating stories. As a kid, I filled countless notebooks with tales that probably should have concerned my teachers more than they did. But it wasn't until I discovered the addictive world of dark romance that I found my true calling. There's something intoxicating about exploring those shadowy corners of human nature that polite society pretends don't exist.

When I write, I don't pull punches. My stories live in that delicious gray area between right and wrong, where morality gets messy and the lines between good and bad blur until they're practically invisible. I'm particularly drawn to the raw intensity of the Russian underworld—there's something about those ruthless Bratva men that keeps pulling me back. (Maybe it's the accents. Or the tattoos. Or both.)

With my latest release "Unhinged," I wanted to push boundaries even further. Anissa Laurent isn't your typical romance heroine—she's a ghost in the underworld, a woman who's learned to disappear so completely that even the shadows can't find her. Until they do. I loved writing her story because she's not asking to be saved; she's fighting tooth and nail for her survival. And when she meets her match? Well, let's just say sparks aren't the only things flying.

I write for readers who want their romance with a hefty side of darkness. If you're looking for sweet, gentle love stories where everyone behaves themselves—I'm definitely not your girl. My characters are damaged, dangerous, and sometimes downright brutal. They're also fiercely loyal, passionately protective, and capable of the kind of love that burns everything in its path.

When I'm not writing about dangerous men and the women who bring them to their knees, I'm probably reading (my TBR pile is basically a fire hazard at this point), binging true crime documentaries (for research, obviously), or trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house.

My writing process is pretty chaotic—I'm talking 3 AM writing sprints fueled by way too much coffee, plot twists that come to me in the shower, and character conversations that wake me up in the middle of the night. My family has learned to ignore my muttering when I'm working through dialogue. (Though they do give me concerned looks when I start googling things like "how long can someone survive in a trunk" or "untraceable poisons.")

What can you expect from my books? Intensity. Chemistry that'll scorch your fingertips. Heroes who probably belong in therapy instead of relationships (but we love them anyway). Heroines who give as good as they get. And endings that'll make you feel like you've run an emotional marathon—in the best possible way.

I believe romance doesn't have to play by the rules to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful love stories come from the darkest places. That's what I explore in my writing—the beauty in the darkness, the strength in survival, and the kind of love that thrives in spite of (or maybe because of) the chaos.

If you like your romance dark, your men dangerous, and your storylines unpredictable, we're going to get along just fine. Fair warning though: my books come with trigger warnings for a reason. I don't shy away from the gritty, painful parts of my characters' journeys. But I promise you this—every scar, every struggle, every moment of darkness serves a purpose in the larger story.
