Hey there, dark souls! I'm Jasmyn Morning, and I write the kind of fantasy romance that makes your typical fairytale look like a bedtime story for kids. (Spoiler alert: my bedtime stories involve a lot more blood, betrayal, and burning kingdoms.)

Let me tell you something funny - I actually started writing because I ran out of dark fantasy books to read. You know that feeling when you finish an amazing series and there's this void nothing else can fill? Yeah, that was me, curled up in my reading nook, dramatically sighing at the ceiling. So I thought, "Well, if no one else is going to write the exact story I want to read, I guess I'll have to do it myself." (Classic writer origin story, right?)

The Chronicles of Song Crye series was born from my obsession with morally gray characters and the beautiful mess that happens when fate decides to play puppet master with their lives. King Ryuji's story in "The Shadowbearer's Burden" practically wrote itself - though I'll admit, there were days when I wanted to reach through my manuscript and shake some sense into him. (He wouldn't have listened anyway. Kings, am I right?)

I'm known for writing stories that dance in the shadows between light and dark. My characters don't fit into neat little boxes - they're complex, often broken, and sometimes they make choices that'll have you throwing your book across the room. But that's what makes them real. That's what makes them human... or, well, as human as shadow-wielding beings can be.

Fun fact: I actually created two versions of "The Shadowbearer's Burden" because I believe everyone deserves to experience these stories in a way that works for them. The original version is raw, unfiltered, and intense - exactly how the story demanded to be told. But I also understand that some readers prefer their darkness with a bit more moonlight, which is why I created the Faded Version. Same soul-deep emotion, just with the edges softened a bit.

When I'm not torturing my characters (lovingly, of course), you can find me collecting antique keys (they might open doors to other worlds, you never know), drinking way too much Earl Grey tea, and convincing my cat she's not actually the main character in my next book. (She remains unconvinced.)

My writing process is... chaotic, to put it mildly. I plot major story beats on my wall with string and notecards like I'm solving a murder mystery, and my desk looks like a fantasy reference library exploded on it. But somehow, in the middle of all that creative chaos, magic happens.

What can you expect from my books? Expect to meet characters who'll haunt you long after you turn the last page. Expect plots that twist and turn like shadows at twilight. Expect romance that burns slow but hot, and conflicts that'll make you question everything you thought you knew about right and wrong.

I write for readers who want more than just another fantasy romance - I write for those who want to feel the weight of a crown, the burn of forbidden magic, and the ache of impossible choices. My stories aren't always comfortable, but they're always honest. And sometimes, the most beautiful truths are found in the darkest places.
