Growing up in rural New England, I spent way too much time alone in the woods making up stories in my head. There's something about those dense forests and isolated mountain towns that gets under your skin and never quite leaves. Little did I know those childhood wanderings would eventually fuel my writing career. (Though my mom probably wishes I'd developed a fascination with something less creepy, like knitting.)

I worked as a private investigator for nearly a decade before picking up the pen. Yeah, you read that right—I was the person hiding behind newspapers and pretending to read while actually documenting evidence of insurance fraud. That experience taught me two things: one, people are capable of far more than you'd expect, and two, sometimes the scariest monsters wear the friendliest faces.

My debut novel, "Silent Creek," combines everything I love about psychological suspense with the raw intensity of dark romance. When I started writing Josie's story, I knew I wanted to explore what happens when someone has to completely reinvent themselves after losing everything. How far would you go to protect yourself? What pieces of your old life would you keep, and what would you bury so deep it never sees daylight again?

I write heroines who aren't just survivors—they're warriors in progress. They make mistakes, they sometimes trust the wrong people, and they definitely don't always make the "right" choice. But that's what makes them real. My villains? They're not twirling their mustaches in dark corners. They're the charming neighbor who always offers to help with your groceries, the ex who still remembers how you take your coffee, the friend who knows all your secrets (and might just use them against you).

When I'm not writing, you can find me hiking the same kinds of remote trails my characters probably shouldn't be walking alone (do as I say, not as I do), attempting to train my completely untrainable rescue dog, or conducting "research" by binge-watching true crime documentaries. My husband has learned to stop asking questions when he finds my browser history full of searches like "how long does it take for hypothermia to set in?" and "best places to hide evidence in the mountains."

For me, dark romance isn't just about the steamy scenes or the thrill of danger—though trust me, you'll get plenty of both. It's about exploring the grey areas between right and wrong, love and obsession, redemption and revenge. I believe the best stories are the ones that make you question your own moral compass while simultaneously hoping the characters make all the wrong choices (because let's be honest, that's where the fun stuff happens).

If you decide to dive into my world, here's what you can expect: complex characters who'll make you want to both hug them and shake them, tension that builds until you're afraid to turn the page (but you will anyway), and endings that might not be traditionally "happy" but are always satisfying. Oh, and plot twists. Lots of plot twists. I'm kind of addicted to those.

"Silent Creek" is just the beginning. I've got more stories brewing, each darker and more twisted than the last. Fair warning: once you step into one of my books, you might find it hard to leave. But isn't that half the fun?
