Hey there, dark souls! I'm K.M. Moronova, and I write the kind of romance that probably shouldn't exist... but here we are. (My therapist has thoughts about this. Many thoughts.)

Let me tell you a secret: I started writing these stories because I couldn't find the exact flavor of darkness I was craving. You know that sweet spot between "ooh, dangerous" and "holy shit, what did I just read"? That's my happy place. And apparently, it's yours too, because here you are.

I grew up devouring books that made my parents raise their eyebrows, always drawn to the villains and anti-heroes while everyone else swooned over the good guys. Like, sure, Prince Charming is nice and all, but have you met the morally grey assassin with trauma issues and a body count? That's the real stuff.

My Dark Forces series wasn't supposed to happen. I was actually working on a perfectly respectable contemporary romance when these characters stormed into my brain and refused to leave. (Rude, honestly.) But the moment I started writing about deadly sharp-shooters, complex military operatives, and the fine line between duty and desire, I knew I'd found my true calling.

"My Blade, Your Back" and "Leave Me Behind" are my babies – dark, twisted babies that keep me up at night, but babies nonetheless. When readers tell me they stayed up until 3 AM reading about Emery's journey or Nell's impossible choices, I feel seen. Because same, honestly. These characters don't let me sleep either.

What can you expect from my books? Well: - Morally ambiguous characters who definitely need therapy - Sexual tension that could power a small city - Plot twists that'll give you whiplash - Violence (the sexy kind AND the oh-no kind) - Romance that burns so slow you might scream - Characters who are really good at killing people (but really bad at feelings)

Fair warning: I don't do light and fluffy. If you're looking for sweet beach reads, I'm not your girl. But if you want stories that'll keep you on the edge of your seat, make you question your own moral compass, and possibly need a cold shower... pull up a chair. We're going to be great friends.

When I'm not writing about dangerous people doing dangerous things, I'm probably reading about them, watching true crime documentaries, or explaining to my concerned family that my browser history is "just research." (No, really, I promise!)

The BookTok community has been incredibly supportive of my twisted little stories, and I'm still pinching myself that my books are being translated into German. To everyone who's shared, recommended, or screamed about my books online – thank you. You're my kind of weird.

I believe the best romances are the ones that make us uncomfortable, that push boundaries and explore the darker sides of human nature. Because let's be honest – the most interesting stories happen in the shadows, not the sunshine.

Currently, I'm working on more books in the Dark Forces world (because these characters won't shut up), and trust me, it's getting even darker. Consider yourself warned.
