Hey there! I'm K.W. Foster, but you can call me Kate. (Yes, those mysterious initials actually stand for something!) I write dark fantasy romance that blends ancient magic, prophecies, and the kind of love stories that'll probably make your mom raise an eyebrow.

Writing has been my escape since I was that weird kid in the back of English class scribbling stories about warrior princesses instead of paying attention to Shakespeare. Though, let's be honest, Shakespeare had his fair share of drama and forbidden romance too – he just used way more "thous" and "wherefores" than I do.

I never actually planned to publish my work. For years, my stories lived in password-protected Word documents while I worked a soul-crushing corporate job (shoutout to all my fellow recovering cubicle warriors!). But there was this one story that wouldn't leave me alone. You know the kind – the characters just move into your head rent-free and refuse to shut up until you write them down. That story became "A Vow of Wrath and Ruin," and somehow, here we are.

My books aren't your typical fairy tales. Sure, there's magic and prophecies and kingdoms in peril, but I write about the messy parts of love and power. The places where right and wrong get tangled up together. The moments when choosing between duty and desire feels like trying to breathe underwater. (And sometimes there are actual underwater scenes – magic is fun like that.)

If you pick up one of my books, expect: - Morally grey characters who'll make you question everything - Steam levels that'll fog up your e-reader - Ancient magic systems that definitely aren't taught at Hogwarts - Plot twists that'll have you texting your friends at 2 AM - Sisters who would burn down kingdoms for each other - And villains who... well, let's just say they're complicated

When I'm not writing about magical kingdoms and forbidden romance, I'm probably hiking with my rescue dog Luna (yes, named after that Luna – I'm a huge Potter nerd), drinking way too much coffee, or rearranging my bookshelf for the thousandth time. I live in the Pacific Northwest where the constant rain provides the perfect atmosphere for writing dark fantasy. Though sometimes I have to remind myself that not every scene needs to include a dramatic thunderstorm.

I believe the best stories are the ones that make us feel something real, even in a world of magic. That's what I try to create – books that grab you by the heart and don't let go until the last page (and maybe not even then). When Aelia's story in "A Vow of Wrath and Ruin" came to me, I knew it had to be about more than just romance or magic. It had to be about the bonds between sisters, the price of power, and the kind of love that survives even when everything else falls apart.

To my readers: thank you for joining me on this journey. Your messages about staying up all night to finish the book, your theories about what's coming next, your passionate debates about characters' choices – they mean everything to me. I read every message (even if I'm sometimes slow to respond because I'm lost in writing the next book).
