Hey there! I'm Kari Lemor, and I write romantic suspense that'll keep you up way past your bedtime. (My apologies to your morning coffee budget.) If you love watching tough guys with hidden hearts find love while dodging bullets and taking down bad guys, you're in my tribe.

I never actually planned to write romantic suspense. Funny how life works out, right? I started as an avid romance reader who devoured everything from historical to contemporary. But there was always something special about those stories where danger lurked around every corner and love bloomed in the most impossible circumstances. (Maybe because my own life was decidedly lacking in both sexy danger and mysterious strangers with guns? Just saying.)

My "Love on the Line" series was born from my fascination with ordinary people thrown into extraordinary situations. What happens when a Miami bartender gets tangled up with an undercover FBI agent? Or when a jewelry store employee finds herself in the middle of a heist with a smoking hot lawyer? These are the stories that wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote them.

Writing style? I like to think of mine as "edge-of-your-seat romance with a side of snark." My characters tend to have sharp tongues and sharper wits, even (or especially) when bullets are flying. There's always banter, because nothing says "I'm falling for you" quite like trading barbs while trying to stay alive. And yes, there will be steam. (What's the point of all that adrenaline if you're not going to put it to good use?)

In "Wild Card Undercover," my first book in the series, I threw Meg O'Hara into Miami's criminal underworld with only her wits and an undercover FBI agent to help her survive. Then came "Hidden Betrayal," where Charlotte and Andrew proved that diamonds aren't the only things that sparkle under pressure. My latest, "Tactical Revenge," features Nick White, an ex-military sniper turned truck driver who can't outrun his past - no matter how many miles he logs.

When I'm not putting my characters through the emotional wringer (it's tough love, I swear), I'm probably reading, binging crime shows for "research" (at least that's what I tell my family), or plotting my next book. Fair warning: I have a slight addiction to coffee and an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect balance between sexual tension and actual danger in my scenes.

What can you expect from my books? Strong heroines who don't need saving (but might appreciate the backup), heroes who are dangerous to everyone except the women they love, and enough twists and turns to give you whiplash. There's always a happily ever after - I promise - but I'm going to make you work for it. Just like my characters do.

I love connecting with readers (seriously, slide into my DMs anytime) and hearing your theories about who the bad guy is or which secondary character needs their own book next. (Trust me, I'm probably already plotting their story.) Your messages and reviews keep me going during those long writing sessions when my characters are being particularly stubborn about following the plot.

The "Love on the Line" series is my heart on paper - a blend of everything I love about romantic suspense. Each book stands alone, but they're even better together, like a good wine pairing. Or coffee and donuts. Or handcuffs and... well, you get the idea.
