Hey there, speed demons and romance junkies! I'm Kate Crew, and I write the kind of stories that'll have you gripping your e-reader like handlebars while racing through chapters at midnight. (Just don't tell me if you called in sick to work the next day—I'm not responsible for your life choices!)
I never meant to write romance novels. Seriously. I spent years as a motorcycle mechanic, covered in grease and telling customers that no, their bike shouldn't make that noise, and yes, that'll be expensive to fix. But stories kept revving up in my head, especially during those long nights when I'd be tinkering with engines, wondering about the lives of the people who rode them. Who was the mysterious guy with the pristine Ducati that only came in after midnight? What about the woman with the vintage Triumph who always looked like she was running from something?
Those questions turned into characters, and those characters wouldn't shut up until I wrote their stories down. (Trust me, I tried ignoring them. They're persistent little devils.)
My debut novel, "Rook and Rebel," wasn't just a story I wanted to tell—it was the story I needed to tell. Regan Fletcher walked into my head one day, full of fire and unfinished dreams, and I knew her journey would be one hell of a ride. I mixed everything I love into that book: the raw energy of motorcycle culture, the complexity of revenge, the way love can blindside you faster than a hairpin turn, and enough steam to fog up your visor.
What can you expect from my books? Tattooed bad boys with hearts of gold (okay, maybe more like hearts of slightly tarnished chrome). Strong women who don't need saving but might enjoy the company. Dialogue that'll make you snort-laugh at 2 AM. And heat. Lots of heat. (If you're reading in public, you might want to bring a fan. Just saying.)
I write in my garage-turned-office, surrounded by vintage motorcycle parts and empty coffee cups. My rescue pit bull, Harley (yes, I'm that predictable), snores under my desk while I type. Sometimes I still take on restoration projects—there's something therapeutic about fixing bikes while plotting how to break and then fix my characters.
My writing style? It's like a custom bike build. Every piece has its purpose, but it's the way they come together that creates the magic. I don't shy away from the gritty stuff. Life isn't always pretty, and neither are my stories. But I promise you'll find humor in the darkness, hope in the chaos, and maybe even love in the last place you'd expect to look.
To my readers: you're not just along for the ride—you're family. Your messages about staying up all night to finish "Rook and Rebel," your theories about what's coming next, your stories about how my characters helped you through tough times... that's what keeps me going. (That and an unhealthy amount of energy drinks.)
What's next? Oh honey, buckle up. I've got a whole MC world building in my head, with characters who are dying to tear up the pages. Some of them are definitely going to cause trouble—the best kind of trouble, the kind that makes you keep reading even though you know you should be sleeping.
When I'm not writing or wrenching on bikes, you might find me at motorcycle rallies doing "research" (which totally counts as work, right?), camping in the mountains with Harley, or hunting down the perfect slice of apple pie in random roadside diners. I believe in living life full throttle, loving fiercely, and never apologizing for who you are.
So if you're ready for stories that'll get your heart racing, your blood pumping, and maybe make you fall in love with someone your mama warned you about... welcome to the family. Grab your helmet, and let's ride.
(P.S. If you spot any typos, blame the coffee. Or lack thereof. Actually, just blame the coffee either way.)
