Hey there! I'm Kristen Proby, and I've been living in stories my whole life. Growing up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, I spent countless rainy days curled up with romance novels, dreaming of writing my own someday. (Spoiler alert: Dreams really do come true!)

I'm the kind of author who believes in giving readers what I always wanted to find on bookstore shelves - steamy romance with heart, complex characters who feel like friends, and stories that sweep you away from real life for a while. My books tend to feature strong, independent women who aren't afraid to go after what they want, and the equally strong men who are smart enough to love them for exactly who they are.

Writing wasn't actually my first career path (surprise!). I spent years working in healthcare, which taught me so much about human nature, relationships, and the kind of strength people find when they need it most. Those experiences shape my characters in ways I never expected. There's nothing quite like seeing how people handle life's challenges to inspire authentic storytelling.

I'm probably best known for my With Me In Seattle series, which holds an extra special place in my heart since it's set in my beloved Pacific Northwest. The Montgomery family has become like my own family (though thankfully with less drama!), and I love how readers have embraced them too. When I started writing about the Montgomerys, I had no idea they'd take over my life in the best possible way.

But I don't just stick to one lane - I love exploring different storylines and subgenres within romance. From my Boudreaux series set in vibrant New Orleans to my Big Sky series in beautiful Montana, I'm always chasing new stories and characters who won't leave me alone until I write them. And yes, sometimes they wake me up at 3 AM demanding attention. (Writers will understand!)

When I'm not writing, you'll probably find me reading (romance, of course!), spending time with my family, or indulging in my slight obsession with good wine and chocolate. I firmly believe these are essential writing tools, along with coffee. So. Much. Coffee.

I've been incredibly fortunate to participate in projects like 1001 Dark Nights, which let me play in new sandboxes and connect with amazing readers who share my love of romance. There's nothing better than hearing from readers who've stayed up all night to finish one of my books (though I do feel a little guilty about those next-day yawns at work).

My writing style? I'd say it's emotional, sexy, and real. I write the kind of romance that makes you feel everything - the butterflies of first attraction, the heat of passion, the depth of true love, and yes, sometimes the heartache that comes before the happily ever after. Because let's be honest - the best love stories aren't always easy, but they're always worth it.

What can you expect from my books? Strong families (both blood and chosen), sizzling chemistry, lots of emotion, and characters who'll stick with you long after you turn the last page. I believe in happily ever afters that feel earned, not given. And while my heroes are definitely swoon-worthy, they're also human - they make mistakes, they learn, and they grow. Just like real life, minus the boring parts.

One thing I'm really proud of is the community that's grown around my books. My readers are the absolute best (I'm not biased at all!), and I love connecting with you on social media, at book signings, and through my newsletter. Your messages, reviews, and support mean the world to me, and they keep me going on those days when the words just don't want to flow.

Fair warning: If you pick up one of my books, be prepared to fall in love - with the characters, with their world, and maybe even with love itself all over again. That's my goal with every story I write, and I hope you'll join me on this adventure.
