Hey there! I'm L.J. Shen, and I write the kind of steamy, angsty romance that'll keep you up way too late and probably make you call in sick to work. (Don't worry, I won't tell your boss.)

Born in China but now living in the US, I grew up devouring books in two completely different cultures. That clash of worlds? It shows up in my writing all the time. I love exploring those grey areas where East meets West, where good meets bad, and where love meets... well, something a lot more complicated than love.

Writing wasn't always my plan. I actually started out in corporate marketing, wearing pencil skirts and pretending to care about quarterly reports. But the characters in my head wouldn't shut up, and eventually, I gave in. Now I spend my days creating brooding alphas and the fierce women who bring them to their knees. (Much more fun than PowerPoint presentations, trust me.)

My latest project, "My Dark Desire," co-written with the amazing Parker S. Huntington, is probably my most intense ride yet. It's the kind of story that made even me blush while writing it – and trust me, that's saying something. When you mix a broken Prince Charming with forbidden desires... let's just say things get interesting.

I'm known for writing heroes who are seriously flawed. Like, need-years-of-therapy flawed. But that's what makes them real, right? My characters aren't cookie-cutter romance novel leads – they're messy, complicated, and sometimes downright infuriating. But I promise you'll fall in love with them anyway. (Even when you want to throw your Kindle across the room.)

When I'm not writing, you'll find me hanging out with my family, binge-watching true crime documentaries (research, I swear!), or dreaming up new ways to torture my characters. I mean... develop their character arcs. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Here's what you can expect from my books: - Heroes who are walking red flags (but so damn irresistible) - Heroines who don't take any crap (usually) - Sexual tension that'll make you fan yourself - Plot twists that'll give you whiplash - And endings that make the emotional torture worth it

Fair warning: my books aren't for the faint of heart. If you're looking for sweet, clean romance, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you like your love stories dark, your heroes morally grey, and your steam level set to "scorching," then pull up a chair. We're going to get along just fine.

I believe romance should be raw, real, and sometimes uncomfortable. Life isn't perfect, so why should our love stories be? I write about the messy parts, the painful parts, and yes, the steamy parts too. Because at the end of the day, the best love stories are the ones that make you feel everything.

To my readers: you guys are my rock stars. Your messages, reviews, and social media posts keep me going when I'm stuck in the middle of a manuscript, wondering why I thought this writing thing was a good idea. Your theories about where the story is going (usually wrong, but always entertaining) make my day.

So if you're ready for a wild ride that'll probably leave you emotionally wrecked but begging for more, grab one of my books. Just don't blame me if you stay up until 3 AM reading "just one more chapter." (We both know it's never just one more chapter.)
