Hi! I'm Lane Mika, and I write steamy romance with a heaping side of chaos. (Because let's be honest—the best love stories are never neat and tidy.)

I stumbled into writing romance the way most of my heroines stumble into trouble: completely by accident and with zero exit strategy. After spending years working in corporate marketing (picture lots of spreadsheets and not nearly enough coffee), I started writing steamy stories on my lunch breaks as a way to escape the fluorescent-lit monotony. What began as a secret guilty pleasure turned into a full-blown obsession, and before I knew it, I had a complete manuscript sitting on my laptop.

That manuscript became "The Inheritance"—my debut novel about a woman who has 30 days to get hitched if she wants to claim her grandfather's millions. Because nothing says "true love" quite like an impossible deadline and family manipulation, right? 😉

I write the kind of romance I love to read: messy, complicated stories where the path to happily ever after is paved with questionable decisions and plenty of steam. My characters aren't perfect (far from it), but they're real. They make mistakes. They say the wrong thing. They sometimes eat ice cream for breakfast and call it self-care. You know, just like actual humans do.

When I'm not writing about deadline-induced marriages or putting my characters through emotional wringers, you can find me binge-watching true crime documentaries (for research, obviously), attempting to keep my houseplants alive (current success rate: 43%), or testing new margarita recipes (this is also "research"). I live in Seattle with my rescue dog, Charlie, who has very strong opinions about my writing schedule and believes walks should take priority over word count.

I believe romance novels are more than just escape—they're a reminder that love can find us in the most unexpected ways, even when we're racing against ridiculous deadlines or dealing with meddling family members. My stories might start with chaos, but they'll always end with hope (and probably a few steamy scenes along the way).
