Lindsay Longford

Dark Romance Author

Hey there! I'm Lindsay Longford, and I write supernatural romance with a dark edge that'll keep you up way past your bedtime. (My coffee addiction? Totally justified by all those late-night writing sessions.)

I've always been drawn to things that go bump in the night. Growing up in a small New England town with more ghost stories than people probably didn't help. Our local library had this amazing gothic romance section tucked away in the back corner, and I basically lived there through my teens, devouring everything from Victoria Holt to Anne Rice. Those dog-eared paperbacks with their brooding heroes and mysterious mansions? They shaped my whole writing style.

Writing wasn't my first career path, though. I actually spent ten years working as a museum curator, specializing in Victorian oddities and local folklore. (Ask me about the time I cataloged a "haunted" music box that supposedly played by itself during full moons. That story may or may not have inspired a scene in one of my upcoming books...)

My debut novel, "Dark Moon," came from my fascination with small-town secrets and the supernatural forces that sometimes refuse to stay buried. When Ryder Hayes showed up in my imagination - this tortured soul trying to outrun his demons but finding himself drawn back to his hometown - I knew I had to tell his story. And Josie Birdsong Conrad, with her unwanted psychic abilities and complicated past? She practically wrote herself.

I love exploring the intersection of romance and the paranormal, where attraction isn't just about physical chemistry but something deeper and often darker. My characters tend to be complex, sometimes broken people who find strength in their connections with others, even when those connections scare the hell out of them. (Kind of like real life, minus the actual demons. Usually.)

When I'm not writing, you'll find me wandering through old cemeteries with my rescue dog Shadow (yes, really - she came with that name!), collecting vintage tarot cards, or attempting to perfect my grandmother's secret hot chocolate recipe. I'm convinced it's magical, but so far my version just tastes like regular cocoa with extra marshmallows.

To my readers: expect stories that blend romance with elements of horror and the supernatural. I don't write light and fluffy - my books tend to explore darker themes, complicated relationships, and the kind of love that sometimes feels more like fate or curse than choice. But I always promise an emotional payoff that makes the journey worth it.

I'm currently working on my next novel (fueled by that aforementioned hot chocolate and way too many midnight snacks), which digs even deeper into the world of psychic connections and dangerous attractions. Think Gothic romance meets modern supernatural thriller, with a healthy dose of "should NOT be this attracted to the possibly-evil protagonist" energy.

I love connecting with readers! You can find me on Instagram where I post way too many photos of spooky old buildings and my dog, or join my newsletter for behind-the-scenes peeks at my writing process and early news about upcoming projects. Fair warning: I tend to ramble about supernatural legends and weird historical facts. A lot.

For those brave souls ready to step into my world of paranormal romance and dark mysteries - welcome to the shadows. We're going to have fun here. (Just maybe keep the lights on while reading...)

Writing is my way of exploring the beautiful darkness that exists in all of us, and I'm so grateful to share these stories with readers who understand that sometimes the most powerful love stories are the ones that scare us a little. Or a lot. No judgment here.

P.S. If you ever want to swap ghost stories or debate the best method for warding off evil spirits, I'm your girl. Just don't ask me about the "incident" at the Salem witch museum. That's still classified. (And no, it definitely didn't inspire chapter thirteen of my next book. Maybe.)
