Hey there! I'm Luca Jaro, and I write dark fantasy romance that blurs the lines between enemies and lovers, between life and death. (And yes, I absolutely live for those morally gray characters who make you question everything you thought you knew about good and evil.)

Growing up in Germany, I was always that kid with their nose buried in a book, usually something deliciously dark and fantastical. My parents probably should've been concerned about how much time I spent dreaming up magical worlds where romance bloomed in the shadows, but instead they fed my addiction with more books. Thanks, Mom and Dad! Little did they know they were creating a future author of stories that would definitely make them raise their eyebrows.

I'll be honest – I never thought I'd actually publish my own books. I spent years working in marketing (which, let's face it, is just another form of storytelling), all while these characters kept whispering their tales in my ear. Finally, in 2020 (you know, when the world went crazy and we all needed an escape), I decided it was time to let these stories out.

My debut novel "Die Verfluchten. Eskan und Lyra" hit the shelves in 2021, and it's exactly the kind of story I always wanted to read but couldn't find enough of. Think Leigh Bardugo meets Naomi Novik, but with my own twisted take on romance and destiny. It's a story about a cursed love that probably shouldn't exist, but does anyway (because I'm a sucker for impossible relationships).

When it comes to my writing style, I don't believe in making things easy for my characters (or my readers – sorry not sorry!). I love exploring those dangerous spaces between love and hate, where attraction becomes a weapon and trust is a double-edged sword. My characters are usually fighting their feelings as hard as they're fighting their enemies, and sometimes it's hard to tell which battle is more dangerous.

What can you expect from my books? Magic that comes with a price. Romance that burns as much as it heals. Characters who are neither heroes nor villains, but something far more interesting in between. And plots that will keep you guessing until the very last page. (Also, probably some scenes that will make you want to throw your book across the room – but in a good way, I promise!)

When I'm not torturing my characters with impossible choices and forbidden love, you can find me wandering through old German castles for inspiration (they're basically my second office), drinking way too much coffee, and convincing my cat that my laptop keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot for a nap. (I usually lose that argument.)

I believe the best stories are the ones that leave a mark on your soul, the ones that make you think about them long after you've turned the last page. That's what I aim for with every book I write. My characters might be cursed, but their stories are blessings in disguise – even when they're breaking your heart.

To my readers: thank you for joining me in these dark and magical worlds. Your messages about staying up all night to finish my book (even though you had work the next day) make all those long writing sessions worth it. And to those who haven't read my work yet – I hope you're ready for a wild ride. Just remember, in my stories, curses can be blessings, enemies can become lovers, and sometimes the darkest magic creates the brightest love.
