Hi there! I'm Lynn Richards, and I write steamy contemporary romance with a heavy dash of political intrigue. (Because let's be honest—DC is basically one giant soap opera waiting to happen.)

Back in 2007, I took my first leap into publishing with "Love Capitolized," which came straight from my own experiences navigating the wild world of Washington politics. After spending years working as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill—and witnessing enough drama to fill a hundred romance novels—I knew I had to put pen to paper. Those marble halls hide more secrets and sexual tension than most people realize!

I've always been fascinated by how ambition and attraction collide in pressure-cooker environments like DC. There's something irresistible about watching driven people fall in love while chasing their dreams, isn't there? My characters tend to be smart, determined women who aren't afraid to go after what they want—both in their careers and their love lives. (Though sometimes what they want comes packaged as a charming senator's chief of staff with bedroom eyes... just saying.)

"Love Capitolized" follows three women—Marissa, Trish, and Kirsten—as they chase their dreams in the nation's capital. Each has her own path, her own obstacles, and her own smoking hot romance to navigate. I loved weaving their stories together against the backdrop of political power plays and after-hours networking events. Because trust me, those fundraising galas can get pretty steamy once the C-SPAN cameras stop rolling!

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me people-watching at DC coffee shops (the things you overhear, I swear!), taking my rescue dog for walks around the National Mall, or binge-watching political dramas and yelling at the TV about how that would NEVER happen in real life. (Though sometimes truth is stranger than fiction—I've got some stories I can't even put in my books because no one would believe them!)

My writing style? Think "West Wing" meets "Bridgerton," but with more modern career women and definitely more scenes that would make C-SPAN blush. I believe in strong heroines, complex heroes, and the kind of tension that makes you want to throw your Kindle across the room (please don't actually do that—those things are expensive).

To my readers: I promise to always deliver stories that are equal parts heart and heat, with enough political intrigue to keep you guessing and enough steam to fog up your reading glasses. My characters will frustrate you, make you laugh, and hopefully make you fall in love right alongside them.

Fun fact: I write most of my steamy scenes while sitting in very proper DC cafes, trying to keep a straight face while the politicians and staffers around me have no idea what's happening on my laptop. (If they only knew!)
