Hey there, dark souls! I'm N.J. Adel, and I write the kind of romance that makes people check their locks twice at night. (Yes, that's a totally normal thing to say... right?)

From the moment I could string sentences together, I knew I wanted to write stories that pushed boundaries. Growing up, I was always the kid with her nose buried in psychological thrillers and true crime books while everyone else was reading sweet YA romance. Don't get me wrong – I love romance too. I just prefer mine with a heavy dose of obsession and a splash of danger.

My debut novel "You Will Be Mine" (coming in 2025) is basically my twisted little heart poured onto paper. It's the story I've always wanted to tell – where love and obsession dance together in the shadows, where the line between salvation and destruction gets real blurry, real fast. (Warning: My characters definitely didn't get the memo about healthy relationship boundaries.)

I write about the kind of love that consumes you. The type that makes you question everything you thought you knew about right and wrong. My characters aren't your typical romance heroes and heroines – they're complex, damaged, and sometimes downright dangerous. But isn't that what makes them interesting?

When I'm not writing scenes that would probably get me put on a watch list (hi, FBI agent assigned to my search history!), I'm probably drinking way too much coffee, binge-watching true crime documentaries, or trying to convince my cat that my laptop keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house.

My writing style? Think midnight thoughts meets psychological thriller meets dark romance. I love exploring the shadows of human nature – those deep, dark places we don't like to admit exist. Every story I write starts with a simple question: "What if?" What if love wasn't beautiful? What if it was terrifying and all-consuming? What if the person who loves you most is the one you should fear most?

To my readers: I promise to never give you a conventional love story. My books aren't for everyone, and that's okay. They're for the readers who understand that sometimes the most intense love stories are the ones that make you uncomfortable. The ones that keep you up at night, wondering if that noise you just heard was just your imagination... or something more.

Fair warning: my stories come with trigger warnings. Lots of them. They're dark, they're intense, and they'll probably make you question your own moral compass. But if you're brave enough to step into my world, I promise you one hell of a ride.
