Hey wine lovers and romance readers! I'm Patricia Evans Cox, and yes, I'm that author who thinks the best kind of foreplay involves a perfectly paired Cabernet. (Don't @ me, I said what I said.)

I wasn't always writing steamy scenes between wine experts and the brooding men who love them. My journey started behind an actual bar, where I spent years as a sommelier watching love stories unfold over carefully selected bottles. There's something magical about wine – how it breaks down barriers, loosens tongues, and sometimes leads to those deliciously bad decisions that make the best stories. Trust me, I've seen enough first dates, proposals, and breakups over wine to fill a hundred books.

After earning my advanced sommelier certification (and drinking way too much wine in the name of "research"), I realized I had stories bubbling up inside me that needed to be told. The wine world is incredibly sexy when you think about it – all those late nights in dimly lit cellars, passionate debates over vintage years, and the intense dedication it takes to master your craft. It's basically foreplay with fancy bottles.

My debut novel "Last First Kiss" introduces you to Alessia Cavalli, one of the few female master sommeliers in the world. (Fun fact: I actually interviewed several of these incredible women while doing my research, and let me tell you, their real-life stories are even spicier than fiction!) Alessia's world of wine competitions, century-old vineyards, and complex tasting notes might seem pretentious to some, but I promise you'll be googling wine courses by the time you finish the book. And don't even get me started on the chemistry between her and... well, no spoilers!

When I'm not writing or swirling wine in a glass (sometimes simultaneously, which has led to some interesting typos), you'll find me exploring small vineyards along the California coast. My own little piece of paradise is a tiny cottage overlooking the Pacific, where I write with a glass of whatever suits my mood – usually something bold and complex, just like my characters.

I believe romance should be like a fine wine – complex enough to make you think, bold enough to make you feel, and satisfying enough to leave you wanting just one more glass. My books aren't your typical "meet cute over spilled wine" stories (though there might be some spilled wine involved... and other things). They're about passionate people who live life at full intensity, who know what they want and aren't afraid to go after it.

What can you expect from my books? Strong, knowledgeable heroines who can tell you the exact vintage of the wine you're drinking and probably use that information to seduce you. Heroes who appreciate both the wine and the woman serving it. Steamy scenes that might make you blush (and reach for a drink). And enough wine knowledge sprinkled throughout that you'll sound like an expert at your next dinner party. (You're welcome!)

I write for readers who love their romance with a side of sophistication, who believe the best love stories should be savored like a rare vintage, and who don't mind learning a thing or two about wine while their kindle melts. Fair warning: my books may cause unexpected wine shop visits and spontaneous vineyard tour bookings.
