Hi there! I'm R.M. Virtues, and I write dark romance that explores the seductive underbelly of New York's elite—where wealth, power, and desire collide in ways that would make your grandmother clutch her pearls. (Let's be honest, she probably shouldn't be reading my books anyway.)

Writing has been my escape since I was old enough to string sentences together, but I never imagined I'd end up crafting stories about billionaire antiheroes and the women who bring them to their knees. Life's funny that way, isn't it? One minute you're doodling love stories in your journal, and the next you're researching high-end auction houses and the psychology of power dynamics.

My debut novel, "Wicked Pursuit and Divine Intervention," introduces readers to the Black Rose Auction—a world where everything (and everyone) has a price. It's the kind of place where champagne flows like water, designer gowns hide deadly secrets, and the line between pleasure and pain becomes deliciously blurred. Think "Eyes Wide Shut" meets "Billions," but with way more sexual tension and morally gray characters who'll keep you up at night. (Both reading and thinking about them. Sorry not sorry.)

I'm fascinated by the intersection of luxury and sin, power and vulnerability. My characters aren't your typical romance novel leads—they're complex, often ruthless individuals who've carved their empires from chaos and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. The heroes (if you can call them that) in my books don't need redemption arcs. They need someone who can match their darkness step for step.

When I'm not writing about forbidden desires and dangerous liaisons, you'll find me exploring New York's hidden gems, people-watching in upscale hotel bars (it's research, I swear!), or curled up with my rescue cat, Noir. Yes, I named my black cat Noir. I'm that kind of writer.

Fair warning: my books aren't for everyone. If you're looking for sweet, conventional romance with perfectly behaved characters, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you crave stories that push boundaries, challenge morality, and aren't afraid to venture into the shadows—pull up a chair. We're going to get along just fine.

I believe the best romances are the ones that make us question everything we thought we knew about love, desire, and ourselves. That's what I aim to deliver with every book: an experience that's equal parts thrilling and thought-provoking, sexy and unsettling.

The Black Rose Auction series is just the beginning. I've got plenty more wicked tales up my sleeve, each one darker and more twisted than the last. (My search history would probably get me put on several watch lists if anyone saw it. Thank god for incognito mode.)
