Hey dark romance lovers! I'm Raven Sinclair, and I write the kind of stories that would make my high school guidance counselor seriously question my mental health. (She already did, but that's a story for another time...)
Growing up as the quiet kid with an overactive imagination and a slightly concerning obsession with antiheroes, I always knew I'd end up doing something creative. I just didn't expect it would be writing steamy romance novels where the villains get the girl. But here we are! And honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.
My journey into writing started the way most good things do – through pure spite. After reading one too many romance novels where the bullies got redemption arcs that felt way too easy, I decided to write the kind of stories I wanted to read. Stories that dig deep into the messy psychology of why people hurt each other, and what happens when attraction sparks between the worst possible people. (Spoiler alert: nothing good. But it sure is entertaining!)
My debut novel "Savaged By The Enemy" introduces Rachel, a girl who's all too familiar with bullying's bitter taste, as she discovers that sometimes running from your past just leads you straight into an even more dangerous future. It's dark, it's messy, and it definitely comes with trigger warnings. But it's also about survival, strength, and finding love in the most unexpected – and probably inadvisable – places.
When I'm not writing scenes that make my mom worry about me (Sorry, Mom!), you can find me binge-watching true crime documentaries, spoiling my rescue cat Midnight (yes, I'm that basic with pet names), or adding to my collection of vintage tarot cards. I'm also slightly addicted to iced coffee and have strong opinions about whether villains deserve happy endings. (They do, fight me.)
My writing style? Think midnight conversations with your best friend about your darkest secrets, mixed with the kind of tension that makes you want to throw your Kindle across the room – but in a good way. I love exploring the gray areas between right and wrong, good and evil, love and hate. There's something fascinating about characters who do terrible things for understandable reasons, isn't it?
To my readers: expect morally gray characters who definitely shouldn't be dating anyone until they've had extensive therapy, steam that'll fog up your reading glasses, and plots that'll keep you up way past your bedtime. I don't do easy redemptions or simple solutions. Life is complicated, love is messy, and my books reflect that.
Fair warning: my stories aren't for everyone. They're for the readers who like their romance with a heavy dose of darkness, who understand that sometimes the most interesting characters are the ones who make the worst decisions, and who don't mind a little (okay, a lot of) emotional trauma with their happily ever afters.
I'm always hanging out on Instagram (@RavenSinclairWrites) and in my Facebook reader group (Raven's Dark Nest), where we discuss everything from book recommendations to which fictional villains we'd risk it all for. Come join us – we have cookies! (Dark chocolate, obviously.)
Currently working on my next book, which might be even darker than the first. My therapist is concerned, but my readers are excited, so I'm counting that as a win.
Remember: life's too short for boring books. Let's explore the dark side together. 🖤
P.S. Yes, Raven is my real name. No, my parents weren't trying to make me become a gothic romance author. Sometimes the universe just has a sense of humor.
