Hey there! I'm Sabrina Blackburry, and I write dark fantasy romance that probably shouldn't be shelved anywhere near the fairytales you grew up with. (Unless your childhood stories featured morally questionable fae, dangerous bargains, and the kind of steam that would make your grandmother faint.)

Writing wasn't my first career path – I actually spent years convinced I'd end up doing something "sensible." But those pesky characters in my head wouldn't shut up, especially not the fae ones. They're persistent little troublemakers, I'll give them that. After years of scribbling stories in notebooks and promising myself "someday," I finally decided to stop waiting for permission to be a writer and just... write.

My debut novel "Dirty Lying Faeries" came screaming into the world in 2022, and let me tell you, releasing that book was scarier than facing down an unseelie court. (Okay, maybe not quite that scary, but close.) It's a dark spin on changeling mythology that asks the question: what happens when the replacement human is actually better at being fae than the original? The response from readers has been incredible – turns out I'm not the only one who likes their fantasy with a heavy dose of spice and morally gray characters who make terrible life choices.

I write the kind of books I always wanted to read but could never quite find: stories where the fae aren't just beautiful, they're dangerous. Where romance doesn't mean sacrificing your power. Where consent matters, even (especially) in dark fantasy. And yes, where steam and plot are equally important because I refuse to believe we have to choose between the two.

Fair warning: my characters tend to be messy, complicated, and sometimes straight-up awful. They'll probably make decisions that make you want to throw your e-reader across the room. (Please don't actually throw your e-reader. Those things are expensive.) But I promise they'll also make you feel things – lots of things – and maybe even fall in love with them despite your better judgment.

When I'm not writing, you can usually find me drinking way too much coffee, hunting for the perfect playlist to match whatever scene I'm working on, or trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house to take a nap. (It's a losing battle, but I persist.)

I'm active on Instagram and TikTok where I share behind-the-scenes peeks at my writing process, book recommendations, and probably too many pictures of my aforementioned keyboard-hogging cat. I love connecting with readers – seriously, your messages and comments make my day, even when you're yelling at me about that plot twist. (You know the one.)

For those wondering what's next: I'm currently working on expanding the world of "Dirty Lying Faeries." There are so many more stories to tell, bargains to make, and hearts to break. Plus, the fae in my head are still talking, and they're getting louder by the day.
