Sloane Sabel

Dark Romance Author

Hey beautiful dark souls! I'm Sloane Sabel, and I write paranormal romance that'll have you checking under your bed at night (and maybe hoping to find a monster there).

Let me tell you a secret: I never meant to write about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse getting steamy with unsuspecting mortals. But here we are, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Growing up, I was that weird kid who preferred Poe to princesses and thought "happily ever after" needed more teeth. Literally.

My journey into dark romance started with scribbling horror stories in notebooks during high school (sorry, Mom, but those parent-teacher conferences were totally worth it). I'd stay up way too late reading Stephen King under my covers with a flashlight, dreaming up ways to blend spine-tingling terror with heart-racing romance. Because why choose between getting scared and getting swoony when you can have both?

When I released "Shouldn't Have Come" in 2024, I knew I was taking a risk. The Four Horsemen aren't exactly your typical romance heroes (understatement of the century). But I believe the scariest monsters make the most intriguing lovers, especially when they're wrestling with their own darkness while pursuing the one soul that calls to them. Plus, who doesn't want to read about Death falling in love? Talk about workplace complications!

My writing style? Think gothic cathedral meets modern nightclub. I love weaving ancient mythology through contemporary settings, sprinkling in enough horror to keep you sleeping with the lights on, and adding those spicy scenes that'll make you fan yourself while looking over your shoulder. (Yes, those scenes. The ones that make your Kindle steam up and your mother clutch her pearls.)

When I'm not writing about immortal beings doing questionable things to willing mortals, you can find me wandering through old cemeteries for "research" (I promise it's research!), collecting vintage tarot cards, and trying to convince my cat she's not actually a demon in disguise. (The jury's still out on that one.)

Fair warning: my books aren't for the faint of heart. If you're looking for sweet, clean romance, you might want to back away slowly. But if you like your love stories with a side of existential dread, biblical proportions of angst, and enough steam to fog up Hell itself – welcome to the dark side, beautiful. We have cookies. And monsters. Sometimes the monsters have cookies.

What can you expect from my books? Morally gray characters who definitely shouldn't be attractive but absolutely are. Women who aren't afraid to dance with darkness (sometimes literally). Plot twists that'll give you whiplash. And love stories that prove even the harbingers of the apocalypse need someone to come home to after a long day of wreaking havoc.

I'm building a world where mythology meets modernity, where ancient evils wear designer suits, and where love might just be powerful enough to postpone the apocalypse. (Or cause it. We'll see.)

To my readers: thank you for joining me on this crazy ride. Your messages about staying up all night to finish "Shouldn't Have Come" make my black little heart soar. Every time you tell me you're terrified but can't stop reading, I know I'm doing something right.

Want to connect? Find me on Instagram where I post way too many aesthetic photos of bones and flowers, share snippets of works in progress, and occasionally let my demon cat take over my stories. Or join my newsletter for exclusive content, sneak peeks, and the occasional existential crisis. (What? Even dark romance authors have their moments.)

Remember: the best love stories are the ones that scare you a little. Or a lot. I'm not here to judge.

Stay wicked, Sloane πŸ–€

P.S. If you hear hoofbeats while reading my books, don't worry. It's probably just your imagination. Probably.
