Hey there, dark romance lovers! I'm Sophie Lark, and I write deliciously twisted stories about dangerous men who definitely shouldn't be boyfriend material (but somehow end up stealing our hearts anyway). Fair warning: my books aren't for the faint of heart, but if you love complex villains, morally gray characters, and steamy scenes that'll make you fan yourself, you're in the right place.

I grew up devouring books under my covers with a flashlight, always drawn to the darker side of storytelling. My poor parents probably worried when I kept checking out true crime books from the library, but hey – look where that fascination led me! (Though I promise I'm perfectly normal in real life... mostly.)

My journey into writing started with scribbling fanfiction in notebooks during high school, but it wasn't until I hit my late twenties that I finally decided to pursue my dream of becoming an author. After years of working in corporate marketing (soul-crushing, but it paid the bills), I took the plunge into full-time writing. Best. Decision. Ever.

The Kingmakers series is my dark little baby, combining all the elements I love most – ruthless antiheroes, fierce heroines who give as good as they get, and enough plot twists to give you whiplash. When I started writing about the shadowy halls of Kingmakers Academy, I knew I wanted to create something different from the typical academy romance. These aren't just school bullies – they're future crime lords, assassins, and cartel heirs learning their trades. (What can I say? I like my men dangerous and my plots complicated.)

My writing style? Think dark chocolate with a razor blade hidden inside. Sweet enough to be addictive, sharp enough to draw blood. I love exploring the complex psychology of my characters, pushing boundaries, and finding that perfect balance between darkness and redemption. There's always steam (lots of it), but also genuine emotional depth and character growth. And yes, there will be violence, betrayal, and morally questionable decisions – but I promise to make it worth your while.

When I'm not writing about beautiful psychopaths (kidding... sort of), I'm probably curled up with my rescue cat Luna, binge-watching true crime documentaries, or trying to perfect my espresso martini recipe. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where the gloomy weather provides the perfect backdrop for writing dark romance. My husband has learned to accept that dinner conversation might include casual discussion of poison methods or money laundering schemes (all for research, obviously!)

To my readers: you guys are my tribe. I love how you embrace the darkness with me, how you understand that sometimes the most compelling love stories aren't pretty or perfect. Your messages about staying up all night to finish my books, or falling helplessly in love with characters you know you shouldn't, make my day every single time.

What can you expect from my books? Complex characters who'll haunt you long after you finish reading. Steam that'll fog up your kindle. Plot twists that'll make you gasp. And always, always a satisfying ending – though the path there might be paved with broken glass and beautiful chaos.

I believe the best romances are the ones that make us question everything we thought we knew about love, morality, and redemption. My characters aren't heroes – they're survivors, fighters, and sometimes villains. But they love deeply, fiercely, and completely. That's what makes their stories worth telling.

Currently, I'm working on expanding the Kingmakers universe (because apparently I can't stop writing about beautiful, dangerous people doing terrible things in the name of love). Each book pushes boundaries a little further, digs a little deeper into the darkness. But don't worry – I'll always hold your hand through the shadows.
