Hey there! I'm Sophie Williamson, and I write dark fantasy romance that probably shouldn't turn you on... but absolutely will. (Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about those forbidden feelings you get while reading my books. Your secret's safe with me!)

Let me start by saying I never expected to end up here, writing steamy scenes about dangerous fae lords and magic-bound contracts. I was actually working in corporate marketing, spending my days writing bland copy about software products while daydreaming about much sexier stories. You know the kind – where the villain is just a little too appealing and the lines between right and wrong get deliciously blurry.

One particularly soul-crushing Tuesday, after my fifth coffee and third mind-numbing meeting, I finally opened a blank document and started writing what would eventually become "The Twisted Mark." I figured if I had to spend my days thinking about binding agreements, they might as well involve hot fae lords and forbidden magic rather than software terms and conditions!

My stories live in that shadowy space where fantasy meets darkness, where consent gets complicated, and where happy endings aren't guaranteed (but are definitely possible... I'm not totally heartless!). I love exploring power dynamics, magical bonds, and the kind of attraction that makes you question your own moral compass. If you're looking for sweet, innocent romance... um, you might want to look elsewhere. My characters tend to bite. Sometimes literally.

"The Twisted Mark" is my debut novel, and honestly? It's exactly the kind of story I always wanted to read but couldn't find. A morally grey fae lord who's definitely bad news but impossible to resist? Check. A heroine who's willing to make dark choices to save the ones she loves? Double check. Enough sexual tension to power a small city? Triple check! (I may have gotten a few concerned texts from my mom after she tried to read it. Sorry, Mom!)

When I'm not writing scenes that make my beta readers fan themselves, I'm probably binge-watching fantasy shows for "research" (look, that tenth rewatch of Shadow and Bone is TOTALLY necessary for creative purposes), drinking way too much tea, or trying to convince my cat that my keyboard is not, in fact, the most comfortable spot in the house to nap.

I write for readers who like their romance with a heavy dose of darkness, their magic with serious consequences, and their love interests questionably redeemable. If you've ever found yourself rooting for the villain while simultaneously thinking "I shouldn't be into this," we're going to get along just fine.

My writing process involves a lot of late nights, playlist curation (nothing sets the mood for a dark fantasy romance quite like Florence + The Machine mixed with some heavy metal), and periodic existential crises about whether I'm going too far (spoiler alert: according to some one-star reviews, I definitely am – and I'm not sorry about it).

What can you expect from my books? Morally ambiguous characters making questionable choices for compelling reasons. Steam that'll fog up your e-reader. Magic systems with serious teeth to them. And relationships that develop in the grey areas between right and wrong, consent and coercion, love and obsession.

Fair warning: I don't do trigger warnings (life doesn't come with them, why should books?), and I won't apologize for taking my stories to dark places. If you're looking for safe, comfortable romance, I'm probably not your girl. But if you want stories that'll keep you up at night for all the right (and wrong) reasons, pull up a chair. We're going to have fun together.

I'm currently working on my next book (which may or may not involve a blood mage with boundary issues and the witch who really shouldn't trust him), and I can't wait to share more of my twisted little worlds with you all.
